From its humble beginnings, Advent of Change has continued to grow in the imagination of people far and wide – with the help of even more exciting endorsements and press mentions! Once again, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has joined us in our mission to change the world this Christmas. Let’s see who’s been talking about Advent of Change this past couple of weeks…
The Daily Mail – ‘The REAL spirit of Christmas!’
"Kristina Salceanu, 26, from Warwickshire, was thinking of others when she created the first charitable advent calendar, called Advent of Change."
The Leamington Observer – ‘Advent calendar aims to make a big difference this Christmas’
"An advent calendar with a difference aims to channel the spirit of giving."
House Beautiful – 'The best alternative advent calendars for Christmas'
"This is a charity advent calendar with a difference."
"Over the 24 days, you'll help provide shelter for a homeless person, medicine for a sick child and protect our marine life, amongst other good causes. So you're giving rather than receiving which, after all, is the true spirit of Christmas."
"Most standard advent calendars will be thrown away come Christmas Day, generating lots of unnecessary and environmentally-damaging waste...Here are some of our favourite plastic-free advent calendars..."
Advent of Change has made more appearances across the airwaves this week, starting with BBC Radio 5 Live – you can listen to the interview here. And, after a phenomenal response, we were then invited on a BBC radio roadshow – BBC Radio Cornwall, BBC Radio Lincolnshire, BBC Hereford and Worcester, BBC Radio Nottingham, BBC Radio Shropshire and BBC Somerset!
We also appeared on BBC Radio 2 on Sunday 25th November. You can catch up on the full interview with Rev Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad here.
We were honoured to have some major star power join our ranks this week – you might know him as Argus Filch or Walder Frey, but to us, David Bradley is another amazing supporter of Advent of Change!
We also adore this festive image of Advent of Change taken by Tia Talula. Thanks so much, Tia!
Finally, in our last blog we gave you a sneak peek of Kristina's interview by Holly Branson in the John Lewis Christmas Lodge in Oxford Street. We now have a clip of one of the questions, which you can see here.
Stay tuned for more press features over the coming weeks. And don't forget to join the conversation on social media using #AdventOfChange!
